#AdivasiAwaaz is a project by Adivasi Lives Matter (ALM) and Prayog, CG to help the Adivasi (Indigenous) youth of India assert their identities through digital stories to preserve, promote and amplify Adivasi identity.
While trekking through the forests of Changki village in Nagaland, I stumbled upon Longping—a soft, edible rock that villagers extract from the mountain. At first, it seemed like a prank. Rocks? Edible? But Longping has long been a traditional delicacy, once popular among pregnant women and now nearly forgotten by the younger generation. Its chalky texture and mineral content hint at a lost practice of geophagy.
