#AdivasiAwaaz is a project by Adivasi Lives Matter (ALM) and Prayog, CG to help the Adivasi (Indigenous) youth of India assert their identities through digital stories to preserve, promote and amplify Adivasi identity.
When Saroj Laguri's husband died, she delayed his final memorial ceremony until she could harvest their paddy. Months later, her village gathered for Diri Dul Sunum, a Ho post-funeral ceremony that honours the dead through ritual, memory, and community participation. Based on fieldwork in West Singhbhum, this article explores how the Ho understand death as a continuing relationship with ancestors, preserved through land, memorial stones, and collective remembrance.
